Time Machine

How long is forever
when it’s forever that we stride
Along the rim of this tick
(Tick ticking) bomb of time
How long is the moment
The moment that we live
The moment where we feel alive
And slam the hands that tick
How long does it take
It take to find this seat
Where this life’s not mechanical
And the clock’s not nature’s key
How long until we see
How spherical is life
outside this land of motion time
Where our hands are bound with twine
How long is not a number
it’s not a span of time
It’s nothing that is called a number
Or ever satisfied
How about now we’re free
To unbind our ticking hands
And say hello to freedom
Where forever doesn’t dance.
Now the clocks are broken
And we’re outside the sphere
Where nothing lasts forever
And forever’s never near.
