The Brain Issue

Maybe I do defy all logic.
Perhaps I’m a walking, talking contradiction.
They tell me,
“you’re being irrational, illogical,”
“shut your mind off for a while,”
“pause, you’ll be at peace.”
But what if peace is something only to be found deep beneath the ground? What if?
What if shutting my mind off means,
there is no longer any fight in me?
That there is no longer any life in me?
So I ask them,
“Where’s the logic in that?”
